Creative Europe is the EU’s funding programme for providing support to the culture and audiovisual sectors.

Call overview

This call aims to foster the talents and skills of audiovisual sector professionals.

Call detail

The objective of the Skills and Talent development support is to foster the talents and skills of audiovisual sector professionals and strengthen the capacity of audiovisual professionals to adapt to new creative processes and new business models with a view to maximise and fully exploit the opportunities of digital innovation across the value chain.

Initiatives will aim at reinforcing the capacity to fully exploit the creative and commercial potential of the digital transition in all formats and for all platforms. Particular focus will be put on the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills, and awareness on market and digital technologies developments, data analytics, sustainable business models, internationalisation, marketing, promotion, audience development, restoration of film heritage, greening of the industry, including training of green consultants to increase the know-how in the sector.

Activities to be funded

Training and mentoring activities to enhance the capacity of audiovisual professionals to adapt to new creative processes, market developments and digital technologies that affect the whole value chain:

•Supporting new creative processes (e.g. creative collaboration including across disciplines, innovative storytelling blending different skill sets)

•Digital transformation: trainings to equip professionals along the whole value chain with state-of-the-art digital tools and data analytics for creative storytelling, production including virtual production, post-production or marketing, promotion, audience engagement and new modes of distribution, monetization and exploitation

• Adaptation to new market trends: including development of new business models and IP rights exploitation (eg. remakes, spin-offs, sequels, merchandising)

• Videogames: trainings to equip professionals with state-of-the-art digital tools for creation, development, production, distribution, promotion and marketing and adapt to new market trends

• Green transition of the audiovisual industry: green consultants, aiming at promoting sustainable practices across the entire value chain; trainings on the implementation of sustainability plans, including the use of tools measuring CO2 emissions

Activities may be physical or on-line or a combination of both. Programmes based on innovative methods, including Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and interactive learning are encouraged to enhance access and effectiveness. The focus should be on the improvement

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, the applicants (beneficiaries and affiliated entities) must:

  • be legal entities (public or private bodies)
  • be established in one of the eligible countries, i.e. Creative Europe Participating Countries: EU Member States (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs)) and non-EU countries: listed EEA countries and countries associated to the Creative Europe Programme     (associated countries) or countries which are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement and where the agreement enters into force before grant signature.

Consortium composition

Applications by single applicants are allowed (single beneficiaries), as well as proposals submitted by a consortium of at least 2 applicants (beneficiaries; not affiliated entities).

Budget

No limit. The grant awarded may be lower than the amount requested.

Project duration

Projects should not normally exceed 12 months.
