EU Funding Goals

Aidlink are interested in building a network in Europe and partnering in development projects that focus on our programme countries, Kenya and Uganda.

We are looking for partners who also believe the key to long-term, sustainable development is a strong and vibrant African civil society, whereby local people are empowered to tackle poverty and catalyse change.

Strengths

Localisation is at the heart of Aidlink's work: we operate through a unique partnership model with African NGOs to deliver long-term sustainable change.

Aidlink also commits to the development and capacity building of our local partner organisations; training staff, training boards of management and funding their organisational development to become strong, sustainable, and independent, organisations.

Aidlink targets the most isolated and marginalised in society with a particular focus on the traditionally nomadic pastoralist communities, the Masai and Turkana in Kenya and the Karamajong in Uganda.

Aidlink is particularly committed to making the world a safer and fairer place for women and girls, tackling harmful cultural practices such as child marriage and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which often signals the end of a girl’s education, agency and choice about her own future.

For 40 years Aidlink has worked to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and excluded, creating a lasting impact in the communities that we reach.

Aidlink is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors from a range of relevant professional backgrounds. The Board of Directors are responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, financial oversight, and good governance.
