EU Funding Goals

We hope to develop a strong relationship with our EU partners by being a member of this initiative.

2 Year Plan:

In the next two years we are planning to upgrade our studios with new mixing desks and faster broadband, and upgrade our studio phones for smoother connections to our listeners. We also hope to role out our media literacy training, and QQI courses, to more groups and individuals.

5 Year Plan:

In the following five years, we are planning to move to a new building so that we can become a community hub. In this new space, we hope to encourage further community development and engagement with a positive, inclusive open door policy for all members of the community.

10 Year Plan:

In the following ten years, we are hoping to use our success to branch out and help other groups in Ireland, and the EU, with similar plans. We would like to champion social justice, community participation, and empower people to reach their full potential.

Strengths

We are very skilled at producing and presenting high quality radio programmes, including outside broadcasts (broadcasting on location). We also produce documentaries and radio dramas which are funded by Coimisiún a Meán, many of which have won national awards. We are currently producing a play in Irish, with local transition year students as the actors.

We deliver QQI courses in Media Expression (Level 3) and Community Radio Skills for Citizen Journalists (Level 4). We also adapt these courses so they can be delivered to adults with intellectual disabilities.

We offer informal radio production training, and deliver a media literacy workshop which was created by Media Literacy Ireland. In 2024 we delivered this workshop to 276 first year students.

We run radio-themed summer camps for 7–17-year-olds which give the children a taste of radio and media. These camps enhance communication and team-working skills, as well as boosting confidence. We have a very diverse staff and volunteer base which includes people of many different nationalities, cultures, religions, abilities etc.

We are an inclusive organisation, welcoming people from all walks of life. We are a safe space for all members of our community, with a zero-tolerance discrimination policy.
