More about the organisation
County Kildare LEADER Partnership is a not for profit Local Development Company that has been operational since 2007. With over 17 years’ experience we provide rural development and social inclusion supports to address issues of disadvantage through the Rural Development Programme (LEADER), the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP) and other supporting programmes in empowering local communities to improve their quality of life.
EU Project Experience
Some experience
Over the last 25 years the LEADER (Rural Development) Programme in County Kildare has worked alongside communities and individuals with funding, supports and resources to assist in the development of stronger, better connected, more resilient and prosperous communities. In the last 10 years alone, LEADER has supported projects and initiatives in the areas of enterprise, farm diversification, tourism, community facilities, greater social inclusion, or climate action.
CKLP is a programme implementer of SICAP 2018 – 2022, and now SICAP 2024 - 2028 providing a range of community and individual supports to address deprivation, disadvantage, and social exclusion. The programme offers a variety of services to eligible individuals who wish to access training or education, develop or start a business or to local community groups within County Kildare. SICAP has a focus on geographically disadvantaged areas & groups working with specific target groups of the programme.
The AMIF funded Kildare Integration Project works with individuals and families currently in the Direct Provision Centres in County Kildare to build their capacity to live independently when they receive their immigration status. It will also support practical integration through a range of targeted programmes.
EU Funding Goals
CKLP is eager to explore the potential opportunities for strengthening our national and EU networks.
We are interested in developing innovative solutions to address rural deprivation, social exclusion, isolation, and climate change.
We want to achieve significant improvements in mental health and wellbeing, climate action using a bottoms up approach, and supports available for the empowerment of the most vulnerable members of our communities.
In addition, we endeavour to expand our involvement in rural development, leading projects on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the green economy, and climate change capacity building.
Strengths
CKLP has over 17 years experience in rural community development. Over this time we grown our connections with community, voluntary, and commerial organisations nationally.
Our strengths lie in the experience of our staff's extensive backgrounds, skill sets, and passion. CKLP hold significant experience in managing significant funding from both the EU and Irish Government.
