EU Project Experience
No experience
In a previous role, we developed the Monaghan Town Team to enhance co-operation and stakeholder engagement between the Local Authority and Business Community. This included engaging with multiple groups from a variety of sectors that helped to deliver new projects that promoted employment, sense and pride of place and improved residents quality of life
EU Funding Goals
2-Year Goals
In the first two years, our primary focus will be on building strong European partnerships to exchange knowledge on urban revitalisation and sustainability. We aim to gain insights from partners experienced in enhancing town appearances through initiatives like facade improvements, public lighting upgrades, and urban greening projects. Additionally, we seek expertise in community-driven safety initiatives, collaborating with third-sector partners to develop a safer, more welcoming town center.
5-Year Goals
Over the next five years, we plan to deepen our involvement by participating in and co-coordinating larger EU-funded projects. We envision projects focused on public realm improvements, sustainable tourism, increased community engagement and how to promote and attract increased employment opportunities in the region. Our goal is to produce tangible outcomes, such as completed facade restoration projects, expanded green spaces, and enhanced pedestrian lighting, to make Drogheda a more attractive and safer destination. This stage will allow us to establish Drogheda as a leading model for town revitalisation and a blueprint for similar communities.
10-Year Goals
In the longer term, Love Drogheda BID aims to lead multiple large-scale projects with measurable economic, environmental, and social impacts. By this stage, we hope to be recogonised as a hub for urban renewal best practices within Europe. Our projects will focus on sustainable growth, increased tourism, and ongoing improvements to public safety and town aesthetics. This vision includes a thriving, resilient Drogheda that continues to draw business, residents, and visitors alike, benefiting from the cumulative impact of a decade of collaborative efforts and EU-supported projects. Our overarching aim through these EU partnerships is to transform Drogheda into a vibrant, safe, and sustainable town, fostering a positive and lasting impact for future generations.
