Some experience.

Commencing this year, funded under the Just Transition Fund, Glas don Saol is a transformative initiative for the Kildare community!

By focusing on career guidance, digital skills training, and personal development, this project aims to unlock the potential of individuals facing social disadvantages. The partnership between KCEC and the Kildare Centre for the Unemployed, along with the collaboration with KWETB, ensures a comprehensive support system for participants.

The two-phase approach, starting with foundational support and moving into vocational training, is a strategic way to build long-term careers and break the cycle of social disadvantage. High-quality career guidance can indeed broaden horizons and provide a clear pathway to success, making a significant impact on both individuals and the community as a whole.

EU Funding Goals

Over the next two years, to lead on major EU project aimed at bringing high quality Career Guidance to those economically disadvantaged in Kildare, and by partnering with similar organisations within the EU to develop systems of best practice with a view to creating a model of practice that may be scaled up and implemented on a national and international level.

Strengths

Kildare County Employment Centre is firmly rooted in the community in Kildare having provided supports to those seeking employment over a period of 30 years.

The organisation has relationships with all of the major stakeholders in the community, both statutory and non statutory.

Having provided adult vocational guidance and counselling over such an extended period of time KCEC has a highly qualified and experienced staff cognisant of the barriers faced by clients experiencing economic marginalisation in the efforts to secure long tern sustainable employment.

Over the years KCEC has run a number of national programmes and more recently an EU funded guidance programme, Glas Don Saol.
