Organisation
Woodlands of Ireland is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to native and semi-native woodlands. Most of our funding comes from government sources, however in order to maintain and expand our services we welcome donations from the general public.
EU Project Experience
No experience
This organisation is new to EU funding and will be supported by the Access Europe team.
EU Funding Goals
We would like to start preparing for an EU fund application by following the below timeline:
- in two years we would like to have a great network of potential collaborators identified and a clear picture of an application proposal finalised.
- in five years we would like to be in a position to apply for an EU grant.
Strenghts
WoI have an excellent network of experts in the area. The amount of knowledge that can be funneled through and by WoI is extensive.
WoI coordinate extensive training for foresters and ecologists while also facilitating Technical Advisory Panels to discus solutions to current issues facing native woodlands in Ireland.
